The Poet's Trail to Urney

Walk through tranquil, lush countryside to the ancient Urney graveyard, showcasing the life of Peadar O'Doirnin. One of Oriel's most famous poets and scholars, O'Doirnin is best known for penning the lyrics of Mna na hEireann, immortalised in music by Sean O'Rioda, Enya and Sinead O'Connor. Listen to Poetry or Sean Nos singing at his graveside. En route, criss-crossing the border as you walk,  forage along the hedgerow and riverside. Hear stories of legendary  mighty warriors and life in the area from the 18th Century to the present. An immersive and unforgettable experience.
